The Room of Shadows

(film projection, feathers)
from The Past Unravels
Jersey Museum, 2012

Théophile Ginestet is represented here in the form of shadows, representing once again the omni- present nature of each person. They are no longer alive yet their history and narratives live on in the context of this space. Their memories embedded in the house. The scattered feathers and distant shadows give a dream-like feel as Théophile is shown to be visited by a woman - suggesting his recently deceased mother.
