Within the scope of the exhibition The Land seen from the Sea which runs until May 4, at the Museum of Contemporary Art at Villa Croce, Genoa, the network of Little Constellation has organized a guided tour of the exhibition and a lecture analyzing it in depth entitled The Aesthetics of Travel as Experience and Relationship by Alessandro Castiglioni.

The Land seen from the Sea is an exhibition devoted to a particular theoretical treatment of the subject of travel. It will analyse the aesthetic forms of this human dimension: the perception of diversity, the fragment, the narrative, ritual, exchange and uniqueness. All these elements are present in the thirty works on display at Villa Croce, which make up the exhibition and present very different hypotheses of research, though all complementary. They range from the sound installation by the artist Nina Danino from Gibraltar, with the creation of a radio link between the Pillars of Hercules and Genoa, to the complex video projects dedicated to the cultural identity of their territories by the Cypriot artist Haris Epaminonda and the Maltese artist and curator Mark Mangion. Part of the exhibition is devoted to the controversial issue of the “stereotype”, a cultural and communicative measure to which small states are often confined. This subject is dealt with in installation projects by Justine Blau and videos by Oppy de Bernardo of Canton Ticino, and the Paradise Consumer Group of Andorra.
